Task
The team at CD Projekt Red reached out to our partner company Lord Danger and Mike Diva to collaborate on a launch trailer for Cyberpunk 2047: Phantom Liberty. We at Modern Logic stepped in to help blend the live action world and the game world together and bridge the games newest addition, Idris Elba, between the two. We were tasked with providing vfx support, design, animation and post production services for the endeavor.
Our Approach
Diving directly in with Mike Diva and co, we got to work on visual development for the main transition scene. With limitations that would exist between the on-set capture and game world, the team focused on developing the digital world that lived between our live action footage and the in-game captures. Once footage was selected and edit settled, our vfx team worked to track and match move footage. Modern Logic served as a pipeline bridge to the development team at CDPR so they could output captures from the game as elements for our team to weave in via composite. We blended raw 3d file output
